Herein lies the transition from hazy summer days which seem infinite to cooler, crisp autumnal evenings instigated by fashion houses releasing images for their autumn/winter campaigns.
3.1 Phillip Lim makes this transition all the more easier with sultry campaign featuring model and musician Jamie Bochert. The images are captured by long-time collaborator of the brand, photographer Vivian Sassen. The shots are still seeped in sunlight, albeit a cooler kind of light.
Rather than escaping reality, the shots embrace it. Romance it, even. It will be the fourth consecutive season that brand has captured images for its campaigns without hair, make-up or styling teams. This type of authenticity only strengthens the 3.1 Phillip Lim ethos of finding beauty in the every day.
Travelling to Jamie Bochert’s native New York; the images were captured in Brooklyn and New Jersey neighbourhoods, areas steeped in childhood memories for Bochert. The result is a collection of arrestingly striking and colourful images which undeniably soften the blow of having to say goodbye to summer.
