For this project, Alexandre Delamadeleine printed a series of black-and-white photographs I took of the Atlantic Ocean tides on recycled paper. These printed seascapes became the raw material for a paper costume, conceived as an extension of the image. Delamadeleine collaborated with the dancer Ilona Cabrera, who brought the costume to life in a photographic series and a video. Through her movements, the paper costume transforms into a living sculpture, revealing an exploration of the notions of confinement and freedom. The series was hand-printed images using an enlarger Emulsion Lab.

The series, photographed by Marina Martínez with video by Zorak Arruti, examines surface as a visual language. Through controlled light, texture, and framing, the images explore how materiality constructs meaning within fashion photography. The approach is intentionally restrained: garments and the body act as extensions of the space, removing expressive gesture to expose structure. The pictorial quality isn’t treated as an aesthetic goal but as a byproduct of process — an image built through precision, where form and composition hold the emotional weight. Fashion is by stylist Dana Fracalossi, who styles Aleksandra Wieczorek in looks by Laia Erena, Delirio Studio, and others, with hair and make up by artist Nerea Castillo.
