Among the standout programmes is XPERFORM, which launched earlier this year and has already set the stage for aspiring artists to rise. With over 1000 applicants hoping for a breakthrough, XPERFORM provides a unique opportunity for regional talents to perform at XP Music Futures and Soundstorm, with the added bonus of career-defining opportunities from MDLBEAST Records. Following live auditions in Riyadh, the finalists are now preparing for the ultimate showdown in December, where the winner will perform during SOUNDSTORM 2024.

XCHANGE, a series of workshops held in key cities such as Kuwait, Tunisia, and Amman, has brought together industry experts to discuss the region’s latest challenges and trends. Derived from the Arabic plural of “she,” HUNNA is breaking down barriers and offering women in the industry the support they need to thrive. This year’s programme has seen over 100 members take part in mentorship, masterclasses, and listening circles, where women can connect, share knowledge, and carve out space in an industry that is increasingly recognising the importance of gender equity.
In keeping with XP Music Futures’ forward-thinking approach, the Sound Futures initiative is giving innovators and musicians the chance to pitch their groundbreaking ideas to industry investors. Modelled on a “Shark Tank” format, this initiative has created a space for bold ideas that could reshape the music landscape, with the winners set to present their projects live in December.
DJ culture also takes centre stage this year with Storm Shaker, a competition that invites aspiring DJs from the region to showcase their skills. After receiving over 250 submissions, the finalists will face off in December, with the winner embarking on a tour across MENA and Europe, including stops at Soundstorm 2024 in Saudi Arabia, O’Beach in Dubai, and EXIT Festival in Serbia. The stakes are high, and the opportunity to perform on such a grand scale could be a career-defining moment for the winner.
Another exciting initiative is the Artist Management Bootcamp, a two-week intensive programme designed to cultivate the next generation of artist managers. With expert-led sessions and mentorship from industry heavyweights such as YouTube and Warner Music, participants will gain the essential knowledge and skills to succeed in this competitive field.
