Lim 1
Alexander Wang wasn’t the only one celebrating a 10-year anniversary this season! The runway at 3.1 Phillip Lim was dominated by floral prints which resembled the bloom of his brand, the themes of growth and rebirth reflected in his dirt-piled set design designed by Maya Lin. His theme was “stop and smell the flowers,” a meditation on the past and future. The patterns were floral, but the designs were sporty as satin bomber jackets tightened with elastic bands and oversized pants were held by a sash. Asymmetric cuts contributed to a slightly masculine feel while open-toed satin boots added to the sportiness factor. Of course, his signature texturized dresses came down the runway in metallic, boasting his strengths and reminding us that this is just the beginning for him.
