There is something special about the freedom that comes through unity — bringing people together from the East and the West to blend cultures, tastes, styles and the like. That freeing essence is what creative director Naeem Anthony explores in Helen Anthony’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
The new collection is the embodiment of the brand’s mastermind Naeem Anthony’s ‘all or nothing’ mindset. With an assemblage of unique and versatile garments, this collection is a kaleidoscope of textures, colours, and fabrics. Implementing hand-embroidered pieces crafted from luxury British fabrics, the Helen Anthony S/S 2023 collection can be mixed and matched, adapted and readapted to fit any occasion — reflecting the inspirational ‘Melting Pot’ Naeem Anthony has been influenced by.
This latest collection is the culmination of the deft craftsmanship seen and felt in Helen Anthony collections past and present, highlighting the brand’s love of ‘colouring outside of the lines’ to create garments that are not just elegant, but eye-catching. In particular, Naeem plays with structures and sizes throughout the collection — coats are oversized, power suits have a playful edge, and mini skirts flirt with the wearer.
In the collection, the Helen Anthony brand collaborates with Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, a craftsman known for creating a luxury jewellery brand that specializes in polki jewellery. Worn by past Kings and Queens in India, polki jewellery is crafted from gold, uncut diamonds and enamel by using a technique called Jadau — something that originally could only be manufactured in the state of Rajasthan in India. The essence and influence of India are even more prevalent in the garments — embellished by the Indian hand embroidering technique called Zardozi.
At its core, it’s a collection that defines what the Helen Anthony brand stands for: designs that embolden the wearer to be their fullest, boldest, truest self through the clothing they wear, no matter the culture.
