The newest edition of The New Creative Voice, a project founded by VBRA Venezia, took over Venice from May 14 to 17, spotlighting emerging fashion and contemporary arts across four days of programming. A packed schedule of showrooms, fashion shows, talks, performances and exhibitions brought together designers, creatives and industry professionals, offering them the opportunity to present their work to an international audience. Built around the concept of taste, the 2026 edition explored the significance of aesthetics and individual choice in an era shaped by virality and conformity, highlighting independent initiatives and fresh perspectives from Italy and beyond.

While more than 50 designers and brands participated in this year’s edition, the fashion show programme stood out as a particular highlight. Inside Fondazione Donà dalle Rose, 13 up-and-coming designers presented their latest collections in a runway show set against the storied backdrop of the palace, accompanied by artistic and musical direction created specifically for the occasion. Meanwhile, in the library halls of Fondazione Querini Stampalia, an exhibition assembled 20 designer projects alongside a programme of talks, including Carla Sozzani and Sara Sozzani Maino in conversation with Maura Basili.

VBRA Venezia was founded in 2024 by Venetian siblings Francesca and Paolo Marco de Paoli with the aim of restoring the city’s creative ecosystem across fashion, art, music and photography for younger generations. Since its inception, the project has evolved beyond those initial ambitions, placing some of Venice’s most promising creatives in the spotlight. This year, however, marked a notable step forward. Supported by major cultural foundations and international publications, the 2026 edition felt more established and expansive, while also receiving increased attention from the media.

In collaboration with Fondazione Sozzani and under the patronage of Camera Buyer Italia, the event also partnered with historic venues and institutions, including Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Fondazione Donà dalle Rose and Compagnia della Vela. Together, they underscored the cultural importance of emerging creatives while ensuring newer generations continue to have spaces in which to showcase their work. This vision closely aligns with VBRA Venezia’s broader mission: to demonstrate that Venice is not defined solely by history and tourism, but also serves as a contemporary “laboratory” for artists capable of attracting international talent.
This edition further strengthened VBRA Venezia’s commitment to an independent cultural platform designed to bring together the local community, contemporary creativity, and younger generations.
