valentino | the nellcôte bag is the star of the new campaign

Alessandro Michele’s affinity for music — already evident in L’Atelier Sonore — finds new expression in Valentino’s latest campaign for the Garavani Nellcôte bag. This time, it’s the atmosphere of a half-remembered concert that sets the tone: late ’60s sunlight, the hum of anticipation, and that in-between moment before the first note lands.

Photographed by Julie Greve, the campaign feels casual and close. A group of friends stretch out in a field, tossing a hula-hoop, chatting, waiting. There’s a sense that nothing’s being performed. The styling matches: softly worn suede, embroidery that catches the light, patterns that wouldn’t be out of place on a roadside vintage find. A boho-chic dream, essentially.

The Nellcôte appears in crossbody and tote forms, crafted in seasonal textures like grained calf and soft suede. Embellished mirrors, geometric jacquards and floral motifs give each piece the lived-in character of something brought back from a long road trip. Several new shapes join the original medium tote that debuted on the Spring/Summer 2025 runway.

There’s a looseness to it all — it’s intentional, but unforced. And if the campaign reads like a prelude, that’s the point: the music hasn’t started yet, but everything’s ready for it.
