the next evolution of masters of dirt | 2026

Few individuals have redefined the limits of adrenaline-fueled entertainment quite like Georg Fechter, founder, showrunner, and creative genius behind the global phenomenon that is Masters of Dirt. Born in Vienna on June 2, 1987, Fechter has become a pioneering force in freestyle sports culture. Since launching M.O.D. at just 14 years old, he’s transformed it from a wild teenage dream into a world-touring, pyro-powered super-show with over 250 performances in more than 20 countries.

What sets M.O.D. apart is its authenticity. Every idea, every explosion, backflip, or music drop originates in the chaotic, creative mind of Fechter and his crew. What starts as a sketch becomes a high-tech, high-adrenaline theatre experience like no other. Though he began as a rider himself, Fechter now operates primarily as the show’s director. Yet, even after stepping back from the ramps, he made a thrilling return for his 35th birthday, performing a double backflip live in Vienna, a moment that cemented his legend within his own creation.

And that spirit is preparing to go bigger than ever in 2026.

While 2025 has already taken M.O.D. across Europe with sold-out dates in Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and beyond, 2026 is shaping up to be the most ambitious tour yet. What Georg Fechter is planning is a freestyle world showcase with new formats, expanded international stops, and a reengineered stage setup that blurs the line between arena show, music festival, and extreme sports spectacle.

New elements expected in 2026 include a hybrid rider-musician format, fusing stunt performances with live music collaborations on stage, modular ramps and rotating platforms designed by M.O.D.’s own Jerry Mayr, allowing for rapid transitions and more dynamic tricks, and immersive audience zones, where select fans will be embedded right on the floor with the riders. Better yet, there’s a new POV camera system offering 360° live feeds from the riders’ helmets directly to the audience in real-time, with Fechter hinting that multiple world-first tricks will debut during the 2026 tour, with new riders pushing the very physics of what’s possible.

As for the riders, the lineup for 2026 reads like the freestyle Avengers:

Adrian Guggemos, the precision king from Stuttgart.

Nicholi Rogatkin, still breaking boundaries a decade after his debut.

Szymon Godziek, fresh off a podium at Red Bull Rampage.

Tim Bringer, the French Crankworx champion.

David Rinaldo, FMX legend and X-Games double gold medalist.

Philipp Schuster, with his signature double frontflips.

Giovanni Peterle, defying gravity with inline skates and even a wheelbarrow.

Riza Zelinka, scooter wildman and Czech fashion cover star.

Pim Scheers, turning BMX into aerial ballet.

And of course, Gerhard “Jerry” Mayr, M.O.D.’s resident buggy master and course architect.

Fechter’s reach extends far beyond the dirt. With this all-star roster, new tricks in the works, and a production level closer to Cirque du Soleil than a typical sports event, Masters of Dirt 2026 is set to be a cultural moment.
