Stella McCartney has drawn a line in the sand. With the launch of her Winter 2026 campaign, the British designer frames the recent full reacquisition of her company not just as a business milestone, but as the spark for a completely new, fiercely independent creative era.
McCartney shifts her focus to the memories, relationships and creative codes that have moulded her career and the house she founded. A campaign of mirrors becomes a fitting device for that reflection, allowing the designer to look back at the influences that shaped her while establishing a clearer vision for what comes next.
Photographed against a series of mirrored backdrops, the campaign creates a visual conversation between past and present. Childhood memories, family, Savile Row tailoring, sensuality, humour and McCartney’s lifelong relationship with animals all return as references, but are stripped back and reconsidered through a sharper, fresher perspective. One of the most recognisable callbacks is the playful graphic tank reading ‘My Dad Is A Rockstar’, a characteristically irreverent nod to her upbringing.

That perspective shines through a wardrobe designed around the defining dichotomies of the modern Stella woman: masculine and feminine, playful and precise. Archival house codes are distilled into a concise, contemporary uniform. Structured Savile Row tailoring sits alongside relaxed 1980s sportswear, while tactile vegan fur alternatives meet delicate vintage-inspired lace and sensual lingerie references. Chantilly lace, moiré and silk jacquards add further texture, while strong shoulders and sculpted jackets give tailoring a distinctly assertive silhouette.
The collection also brings McCartney’s fascination with nature and animals into more unexpected territory. The Appaloosa returns in new colourways and animal-inspired textures, while faux fur and hand-crocheted heart details continue to reference intimate memories from the designer’s childhood. The palette moves between chocolate, camel, rust, charcoal and black before being jolted into brighter primary shades, giving the collection a sense of movement.
Falabella, one of the house’s most recognisable signature bags, is revisited in mink-effect vegan alternatives, leopard jacquards and seasonal finishes. Meanwhile, the Ryder Pochette arrives with quilted diamond stitching and a cruelty-free croc-effect texture, extending the collection’s fascination with tactile surfaces without compromising McCartney’s animal-free approach.

As always with McCartney, extreme refinement does not mean compromise. The house has famously rejected leather, fur, feathers and exotic skins since its very inception, but Winter 2026 pushes those ethical boundaries even further. An impressive 93% of the collection is crafted from sustainable materials, with the season introducing or expanding the use of alternatives including Brewed Protein™, a next-generation structural protein fibre designed to replace animal-derived fibres such as wool, alongside recycled materials, forest-friendly viscose, organic cotton, ECONYL and grape-based VEGEA.
