travel guide | sls las vegas

sls-las-vegas_credit-ryan-forbesThe city of sin is known for her opulence and luxury, tempting every sense with an indulgence for each unique appetite. The SLS Las Vegas is the perfect getaway for the palette with sophisticated taste, an exclusive stay in a perfect boutique hotel meant for the lavishly inclined. Once known as the Sahara where Frank Sinatra very often spent his time, the hotel has been now renovated into the beauty we visit today. With a very friendly concierge and fantastic staff, the royal treatment was given and the very best was served to accommodate every need. Comfortable and quiet, it is the much-needed retreat after the usual late nights Vegas is famous for. The incredible entrance to the elevators is exquisite; the golden reflections and bedazzling lighting is worth the visit alone. The infinity mirrors in the rooms illuminate and expand the already very luxurious spaces, adding the illusion of incredible size and dimension for the traveler who craves extra amplitude.

The Foxtail Pool is the premium place to relax in the afternoon. Signature cocktails enjoyed in one of the many cabanas and daybeds add to the heavenly atmosphere necessary to achieve maximum complacency. A very polite pause between evenings, the pool is the spot for prime pleasure and tranquility. Designed to indulge, each beverage is better than the last, cooling down the heat of the desert in an oasis of pure bliss.

The cheeky artwork is an amusing adornment to the masculine décor, and the perfect place to begin the night’s adventure. The dining is delectable, and with so many places to choose from, it’s difficult to settle on just one spot. Cleo is a sight to behold; the books that line the room give a feeling of worldly affluence and the illusion of dining across the globe. Nada, a living mythological true beauty from Sudan, served each delicacy with artistic flair and grace. Her presentation was magic, illustrating each dish as if she was telling a story and not simply naming off specials.

The grilled octopus melts with buttery delight. The Brussel sprouts cackle and crunch like snapping twigs around a comforting fire. Explosions of rosemary and olive oil balance each flavour and continue to delightfully haunt the senses long after each bite is finished. A coffee cocktail served in a crystal martini glass is a dessert on the go, preparing the late night gambler for a full night in Vegas’s very ready and open arms.

For those who crave live entertainment, Hollywood’s beloved music venue Sayers Club now has an intimate and very refined place to enjoy both new and established artist performances at the SLS. With plenty of lavish sofas and seating, and a patio that faces the strip, it is a prime spot to enjoy a cocktail or two.

To come home to this place to retire after long days and even longer nights is a necessity. The Ciel Spa is the best place to escape and recharge, offering signature treatments from some of the finest therapists in the world. Herbal steam rooms and luxury services reboot and rejuvenate even the most exhausted bodies. Reminiscent of a celestial dreamscape, each room restores the verve and vigor necessary to tackle the ostentatious phenomenon of Vegas nightlife. An all around ace, the SLS Vegas is a hands down winner for the fortune finders and lady luck aficionados pursuing a serendipitous getaway.
