One section of fashion week we usually overlook is the footwear. Focusing solely on accessories is difficult while full looks are walking past. But René Caovilla barges in with a feline step for the Autumn-Winter 2026/27 collection. Titled ‘Midnight Allure,’ the lineup embraces a sophisticated femininity that celebrates being noticed. A deep, saturated red provides the backbone for the new range, appearing like a spark against the dark background of a winter evening. This colour runs through the entire selection, from the delicate mesh of the Allura family to the iconic wraps of the Cleo.

Edoardo Caovilla established the Maison in 1934 and his family has spent the intervening decades treating footwear as a branch of jewellery rather than simple accessories.

The Allura family introduces pumps and slingbacks that feature a leopard motif peering through transparent mesh. Hand-applied crystals in matching tones add a layer of reflection that shifts as the wearer walks. The Galaxia also returns for the season, combining leather with semi-transparent panels to create a look that feels almost weightless. Another highlight is the Onda sandal, which takes the signature serpent motif and reimagines it as a fluid wave winding up the leg. This wave design appears in black, white and red, and also features on a selection of clutches for a coordinated evening look.

Nature takes the lead for the Leaf sandal, where hand-embroidered tulle leaves decorate the straps of a 105 mm stiletto. These delicate details catch the light like frost on a branch, offering a softer alternative to the animal prints found elsewhere. Animal patterns act as a recurring theme on the Diana flats and the platform versions of the Cleo, giving these silhouettes a strong personality.

A special project with Swarovski captures the purple and beige tones of a sunset across four specific styles. Among them, the Super Cleo is particularly striking, carrying over two thousand crystals in various cuts to create a three-dimensional appearance. Even more elaborate is the Lady sandal, which features a constellation of 2,370 stones across its slender frame. Every pair is still made by hand in the Italian atelier, where artisans focus on the minute details that define the house.
