In this Schön! editorial, photographer Yael BC explores dislocation, comfort, and absurdity through a cinematic lens. “A man, Eike Nink, arrives — possibly from nowhere, possibly from the past — and settles into a landscape that resists explanation,” explains Yael. “Vintage furniture in lava fields, an excavator as a throne, a lone horse bearing witness. The fashion choices by Ellen Leshchyshyn shift between elevated heritage and playful eccentricity, grounding the character in a fictional yet emotionally familiar world. The editorial invites a gentle tension between elegance and surrealism, solitude and performance, where domesticity is staged in the open wild and identity is both theatrical and sincere.”
