Every year, Chamonix becomes a meeting point for the global trail-running community, drawing elite athletes and amateur runners into the French Alps to test themselves against some of Europe’s most demanding terrain. This year, Nike ACG is joining the action with ACG Chamo Camo, a collection inspired directly by the landscape surrounding the mountain town.
Built around the idea of moving with nature, the collection takes its cues from the granite, limestone and spruce forests of the Mont Blanc region. The concept was developed with insight from ACG’s All Conditions Racing Department and its roster of elite athletes, who helped shape a kit designed to keep runners moving quickly while allowing them to blend into their surroundings. The print appears across the official racing kit alongside a retail line featuring the sweat-wicking Solar Chase Camo Top, Brief-Lined Trail Running Shorts and lightweight Trail Running Tank Tops.

The visual identity of the garments takes its physical cues from the raw, high-altitude terrain of the Mont Blanc massif, applying fractured geological patterns across lightweight, weather-resistant materials. To put the technical fabrics to an immediate practical test, the brand staged the inaugural ACG G.O.A.T. 1000, sending 75 international trail runners up an aggressive vertical-kilometre route that packed 1,000 metres of vertical climbing into a punishing 4.0-kilometre path.
Competing athletes navigated the technical Via Ferrata cliff segments during the final stretch of the race, testing their agility under intense physical strain. The closing ceremony at the summit featured traditional alpine horn ensembles and the presentation of custom golden winner bells, culminating in the engraving of the top two runners’ names onto a ceremonial shepherd’s staff that will reside permanently back down in the valley.

Simultaneously, the label has executed a complete material takeover of the Sentier retail space in Chamonix, turning the interior layout into a physical extension of the alpine forest. Living moss surfaces, thick tree bark claddings and dense mountain foliage wrap the display structures, echoing the athletic requirement to remain unseen on the trail. The accompanying apparel inventory leverages sweat-wicking synthetic fibres and articulated seams to accommodate high-speed strides, providing zero-distraction movement across unstable scree and steep ridges.
The limited-edition Chamo Camo collection is available globally online and remains on sale inside the Chamonix Sentier outpost. Find out more here.
