mercedes-benz’s class of creators | ice spice remixes the new cla

Mercedes-Benz kicked off its latest creative venture, ‘Class of Creators,’ with none other than Bronx-born rapper Ice Spice. The project, which gives the all-new CLA a fresh spin through the eyes of five artists, launched in New York last week as part of the grand opening of Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan — and Ice Spice was first in line to leave her mark.

Her contribution? A chrome-wrapped CLA reimagined with her own signature touch, complete with diamond-drenched chain motifs and a healthy dose of “Princess of Rap” attitude. The car’s bold look also teased a matching capsule collection of black and pastel streetwear, designed to channel the same playful, self-assured energy.

From the stage to the showroom, Ice Spice’s take on the CLA marked the start of a wider conversation between the brand and a new wave of creatives. Over the coming months, more names will follow: Swedish designer Gustaf Westman, KidSuper, Hot Wheels, and even League of Legends are all set to reinterpret the car in their own language, bridging the gap between luxury, design and pop culture.

“The all-new CLA is the leading-edge trailblazer of our portfolio — the gateway into the world of Mercedes-Benz,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Digital & Communications at Mercedes-Benz AG. “We are thrilled to collaborate with our Class of Creators, represented by Ice Spice, Gustaf Westman, KidSuper, League of Legends and Hot Wheels. Together, we want to connect and engage with diverse communities by inviting them to be a part of this conversation.”

The Manhattan reveal wasn’t short on hometown pride either. Alongside the art car debut, the night featured a live set from Brooklyn-based artist DJ LPX and a performance from the cast of the Broadway hit show Hell’s Kitchen — not your average showroom launch.

The night doubled down on what Mercedes-Benz is aiming for with the new CLA: an object of design, ready to be redefined by the people who move culture forward.
