marine serre ss26 | the source

Marine Serre does love a long story, or so it appears. Following previous campaigns divided into chapters, the French designer has gone back to the very foundations of her craft for Spring/Summer 2026 with a project she calls ‘THE SOURCE.’ This season focuses on the basic necessity of clothing as a form of protection. She has created a wardrobe with a real sense of intention, where her signature upcycled fabrics take on a much sharper sense of sensuality. Regenerated fabrics remain at the heart of her process, showing an ongoing commitment to a circular way of working.

These chapters return once more, starring Spanish actress and house friend Ester Expósito in the first instalment. She takes the lead in this campaign to show exactly what the Marine Serre woman looks like today. Beside her, the Senegalese model Momo Ndiaye provides a balanced presence with his own natural elegance.

Sarah Piantadosi captured these moments at the Hôtel Grand Mazarin in Paris, unfolding the story in three parts that feel incredibly personal. This first chapter focuses on identity before the rest of the world starts watching, creating a mood that feels unguarded and wonderfully serene. Expósito moves through the rooms with a natural grace, as if the camera just happened to catch her in the middle of her day.

A vibrant red jersey dress takes a central role, wrapping around the body in a single, continuous gesture. It follows the natural shape of the person wearing it, revealing the silhouette underneath without forcing it into a specific mould. This idea of the garment as a second skin runs through the whole collection, appearing in worked leather and the iconic moon-patterned denim. These pieces act as an extension of the body, allowing the person inside to express themselves freely.

Accessories feel like reliable companions in this setting, especially the Aurora bag, which manages to be both functional and refined. It adds a subtle touch to the look, reinforcing a sense of femininity that belongs solely to the woman carrying it. The next chapters will all be revealed soon, continuing this evolving exploration of femininity as it moves from presence to self-possession. The eternal Marine Serre story continues to unfold and we are happy to follow along.
