mandarina duck ss25 | a tribute to bofill

Sun-splashed staircases, geometric illusions, and striking colour blocks. La Muralla Roja might be a postmodernist fever dream, but for Mandarina Duck, it’s the perfect stage. The brand’s SS25 luggage collection lands with confidence in the iconic Ricardo Bofill-designed building, paying homage to the late Spanish architect through a burst of architectural clarity and tonal brilliance.

Bofill’s iconic palette (including dusty pinks, Mediterranean blues, and sun-faded reds) finds a natural counterpart in Mandarina Duck’s travel line, which leans into colour-blocking with the same conviction.

The SS25 luggage edit is divided into three design landscapes. First, the ORIGINAL Mandarina Duck Landscape, which revisits classics like the MD20 and Logoduck+, blending recognisable silhouettes with updated materials and saturated shades. These pieces speak to the seasoned traveller who knows the value of a zip that glides and a suitcase that spins.

Then there’s the FUNCTIONAL Landscape, with names like Mellow Leather and Soft Travel Zephyr that sound as smooth as they feel. Designed for movement, this range is lightweight, hard-wearing, and ready to follow you across terminals and time zones.

Lastly, the CONTEMPORARY Landscape offers a modern, eco-conscious twist. Collections like Eco Coated Urban & Casual and Revival 2.0 blend practical design with environmentally thoughtful materials without compromising style or structure. Revival 2.0, in particular, stands out: each bag is crafted from recycled PET bottles, features a unique bubble-wrap-like texture, and comes in a foldable format with a transparent pouch. Colourful, featherlight, and future-facing, it’s part of Mandarina Duck’s broader ECODUCK™ mission.

While SS25 celebrates Bofill’s vision, Mandarina Duck’s presence at Milan Design Week 2025 takes on a more reflective tone. In partnership with VAIA, the brand has transformed its Brera store into an immersive installation titled Reflect. Face what matters. The experience invites visitors to consider the impact of their everyday decisions.

To accompany the installation, Mandarina Duck and VAIA also launched a limited edition VAIA Cube — a minimalist sound amplifier crafted from storm-felled Dolomite wood. With no electronics, just natural resonance, the Cube is a quiet tribute to resilience and sustainable design. Each piece sold supports reforestation efforts.
