louis vuitton | the new color blossom watch collection

Louis Vuitton’s four-petal monogram flower has travelled from historical canvas trunks to gold tennis bracelets since Georges Vuitton first sketched it in 1896, but it has never been tasked with actually keeping time. As part of its 130th anniversary celebrations, the Maison is globally debuting the ‘Louis Vuitton Color Blossom Watch’ collection, marking a major expansion as the first time-telling accessory to cross into the house’s decade-old fine jewellery universe.

Fronting the campaign imagery is brand ambassador Ana de Armas, captured by Inez & Vinoodh, projecting a relaxed femininity that frames these new timepieces as items meant for casual wrist-stacking. This latest watch lineup possesses a similar energy to the core ‘Color Blossom fine jewellery’ line, layering the floral dials alongside familiar pendants and long necklaces. Signature everyday staples – ranging from delicate pink gold chains to toggle-clasped bracelets – carve out their identity through double-sided carvings of malachite, carnelian and pink mother-of-pearl.

“We wished to reinterpret an iconic jewellery collection, presenting a women’s timepiece with a jewellery spirit,” says Matthieu Hegi, artistic director at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. “With the mother-of-pearl or hardstone dials, or a diamond-set case, there is also an inherently precious essence, which perfectly reflects the Color Blossom collection.”

The design layout breaks away from standard circular geometry to let the iconic sun-shaped emblem form the actual silhouette of the watch case. Shifting into a delicate 26mm footprint, the gold or steel case profile curves smoothly to replicate the rounded volumes of the flower. The brand identity continues through to the hands, where a tiny, polished pin motif pays direct homage to the classic brass rivets found on historical custom travel trunks. Rather than competing with traditional sports chronographs, the engineering focuses primarily on a jewellery-first format driven by a low-maintenance quartz movement, built to nestle next to matching chain bracelets.

Four distinct variations make up the initial launch, each demonstrating the technical expertise of La Fabrique du Temps, the house’s specialised watchmaking workshop in Geneva. The artisans overcame the delicate task of imprinting tracking markers onto fragile gemstone dials shaved down to between 0.3 and 0.6 millimetres thick. The line-up includes a casual stainless steel version holding an iridescent white Australian mother-of-pearl face, a soft pink gold model featuring a blush-pink mother-of-pearl dial, and a striking yellow gold iteration featuring rich, aqua-blue natural amazonite sourced from Brazil. The most luxurious novelty is a high-jewellery model using a snow-setting technique to pack over a carat of brilliant-cut diamonds across the dial and bezel contours.
