Le Creuset x ‘Star Trek’ collection.

Le Creuset has turned its attention to the final frontier, launching a limited-edition cookware collection to mark the 60th anniversary of ‘Star Trek’. Released in time for the annual Star Trek Day, the collaboration brings the 1960s television series’ most recognisable symbols directly into the kitchen, mapping decades of space exploration onto classic French cast iron and stoneware.

The pieces balance the everyday usefulness of Le Creuset cookware with details made for anyone who knows their Starfleet Delta from their Klingon Trefoil. At the centre of the cast-iron selection is the Enterprise Casserole Dish, featuring a relief of the NCC-1701 starship emerging from the brand’s familiar concentric rings, before the design is finished with a custom metallic Starfleet Delta lid knob and a hidden engraving inside the lid. Its Klingon counterpart takes a more imposing route, with the Gourmet Casserole Pot drawing on the sharp lines of the Bird of Prey and finished with a Klingon Trefoil knob, while the traditional battle cry ‘Qapla’ is embossed inside the lid. Anyone who already has a Le Creuset collection can also buy both heat-resistant metal knobs separately, giving existing cookware its own small intergalactic upgrade.

The stoneware follows the same idea with a lighter touch, bringing some of the iconic franchise’s most familiar characters and spacecraft to the dining table without losing sight of what these pieces are actually designed to do. The Galileo Shuttle Baking Dish takes its structural cues from the iconic shuttlecraft and works as an oven-to-table piece, while three Mini Cocottes are dedicated to Balok, the Gorn and the Talosians. The Spock Mug gets an especially playful treatment, with a sculpted handle following the Vulcan’s silhouette and gold detailing around the rim inspired by Starfleet uniform codes.

That same attention to detail extends into the smaller kitchen accessories, where the ‘Live Long & Prosper’ Spoon Rest puts one of ‘Star Trek’s most known phrases on the worktop and a matching 15-inch embroidered Oven Glove picks up elements of Spock’s uniform alongside his unmistakable Vulcan greeting. Even the preparation tools have joined the mission, with the Communi-Grater taking its form from the classic Starfleet communicator while combining a stainless-steel grating blade with a folding design that makes it easy to store once dinner is over.
