h&m studio spring/summer 2026 | the art of reinvention with sabrina lan

Yaqian Lan, or as we know her, Sabrina Lan, knows a thing or two about playing a character, and her latest fashion adventure proves she is the ultimate style chameleon. Lan joins Schön! for an editorial built on the power of transformation.

The H&M Studio Spring/Summer 2026 collection asks everyone to throw the rulebook out of the nearest window, celebrating a wardrobe that feels beautifully weird and intentionally off-centre. Lan steps into this world with a grin, claiming each piece as her own. She stares at the camera to declare “I choose this” because she finds power in the act of selection. Her confidence turns every street into a runway where the only rule is to have a bit of fun.

The clothes themselves are a tribute to the joy of becoming yourself. You see her in a classic brown check coat with an elongated neckline, before she transforms her look into a more laid-back pairing. She reappears in trousers with sculptural waistbands you can fold however you like. Every look unlocks a new version of you, and Lan inhabits these different personas with total conviction.

The textures are a mix of leather, wool and alpaca blends that keep things interesting. One moment, she is wearing a surreal floral print dress, and the next, she has shifted into a tailored set. Woven through each transformation is the wig. It’s not used as an accessory, but as something that helps unlock the character Lan can easily morph into. With every shift and change, it becomes a catalyst for reinvention, helping her unlock a new version of herself and step fully into whoever she chooses to be.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, the creative advisor at H&M, says this eccentric muse lives in contrast. Lan embodies that spirit by embracing every side of herself without apology. She reaches for burgundy pillow-shaped leather bags and jewellery shaped like fuzzy blooms to finish her looks. These pieces draw on 90s minimalism to create staples that can morph into whatever a person needs. Lan takes these items and makes them feel fresh, whispering, “this is mine,” “this feels right,” as she moves through her wardrobe. This campaign reminds us that getting dressed is the best way to rediscover who you are today.
