Mid-August sunshine might still dominate the afternoon, but sub-zero wardrobe transitions are already starting to dictate the autumn schedule. Canada Goose has got ahead of the seasonal mood with ‘Second Nature’, the latest chapter of its wider ‘Natural Intelligence’ platform and the first major Autumn/Winter collection shaped by Creative Director Haider Ackermann.
“‘Second Nature’ captures something we know to be true: confidence in the season doesn’t come from preparation alone, it comes from experience,” explains Carrie Baker, Canada Goose’s President of Brand & Commercial. “The way people experience autumn and winter is deeply personal, and this collection reflects that reality.”
A multi-layered design philosophy guides Canada Goose’s expanding universe under Ackermann. The Toronto-born outerwear specialist built a global reputation on heavy parkas engineered for the world’s least forgiving conditions, but the Autumn/Winter 2026 rollout shows little interest in assuming every customer is about to embark on a polar expedition. Instead, the garments expand the wardrobe surrounding the core coat, introducing heavy fleece, knitwear, shirting, lightweight down and footwear while retaining the performance foundations that established the brand identity.

An expansive library of fresh items anchors the seasonal release, marking the largest assortment of new patterns in the history of the company. Youthful colour-blocking defines the heavy fleece selection, which appears alongside nostalgic graphics, traditional plaids and patterned lightweight down shirting. Layering options dominate the transitional womenswear selections, extending into thick winter additions through the upcoming arrival of the Sterling and Fallon puffer families. Subsequent drops introduce an entire Après-Ski and Holiday capsule, incorporating Western-inspired panel details into heavyweight down jackets and apparel. Accessories including dense wool toques, knit scarves and specialised weather-ready footwear complete the comprehensive winter selection.
Ackermann styled and directed the campaign images himself, pulling pieces from across the season to illustrate his unified vision. Creative choices keep the manufacturing process entirely fur-free, replacing animal products with synthetic alternatives. Select winter styles, including the Aren, Shelbourne and Louise Parkas, feature custom faux-fur trims crafted from recycled polyester and post-consumer plastic bottles. Recycled materials form part of a broader effort to reconfigure the aesthetic heritage associated with the label while keeping the technical focus firmly on cold-weather protection.
