Morocco is to host the art collective organization – Beauty Without Irony’s first international expo, ‘Air/Port 2013’. The event will be held in Essaouira through September, and in Antwerp, Belgium next year.
The art exhibition and charity auction features the artwork of 50 professional and international artists, as well as underprivileged youth who live in both Essaouira and Antwerp.
The artwork has been inspired by two of Essaouira’s best-known qualities: the energy of the city’s port life and the always-present Atlantic breeze. The pieces have been reproduced on flags and placed in major transportation routes and historical sites throughout Essaouira. Original pieces are to be presented in galleries throughout the exhibition’s duration.
Some of the artists featured in the exhibition include Olaf Breuning, Marie-Françoise Plissart, Felix Richter, Daniel Riera, Abdelaziz Baki and Mohamed Tabal
Based in Antwerp, Belgium, Beauty without Irony is a creative and educational committee founded by Ninette Murk in 2001. Created around social change and charity engagement, Beauty without Irony creates global projects that band together the public, art and social concern in hopes of making the world a more beautiful place.
AIR/PORT, will take place in Essaouira from July 5th – September 5th 2013.
