Jacky Tsai demonstrates a clash of the cultures/
Alexander McQueen’s floral skull creator Jacky Tsai is daring to alter the typical fear associated with skull imagery. After finishing his education in China, Tsai went on to study at the reputable Central Saint Martins in London where he became intrigued in revolutionizing artistic ideals by merging cultures of the East and West into dazzling works of art. Tsai continues to reinvent his art by exerting unconventional methods and mediums. He recently launched his own luxury clothing line ‘Jacky Tsai’ to showcase his ‘art level’ fashion on exorbitant silks. Tsai continues to break down Chinese superstition by recreating the skull into beautiful floral images including his newest creation—a life size sculpture of a skull covered in delicate leather flower blossoms taking 300 days to complete. He hopes his unconventional artistic ideals will serve as a platform for other young artists like himself.
