drawing out emotions: interview with illustrator sam wolfe connelly

Illustrator Sam Wolfe Connelly uses his own vulnerabilities to translate his drawings into creative expression and emotion. From despair to poise, Connelly depicts everyday feelings into forceful illustrations. Currently gracing the artistic circle in Queens, New York, this recent graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia knows his art. Creating as a freelance writer in New York allows Connelly to be immensely creative. Connelly captures the essence of his subjects without overexerting their character and presence by using a simple tone. The mysterious element of Connelly’s works will project him into the future as a definite illustrator to watch.
