London’s fashion heritage on the world stage is long and storied.  With people coming from all over the world, plainly just to shop in the city, many can agree that London’s vintage scene is incredible.  Online travel company GoEuro, which is based in Berlin, recently published a list of top vintage shopping destinations in the UK and highlighted some of London’s districts. Looking for that classic black quilted Chanel purse? Or Valentino gowns from the 1970s? London is definitely the place to look. Here are some of the best of what the city has to offer:

One of a Kind London
It won’t come cheap but One of A Kind London certainly lives up to its name. All your exclusive vintage pieces can be found here from Chanel gowns to iconic Hermès bags. Peruse the shop and you’re sure to find something special. As you can imagine, the boutique prides itself on the rarity of the items they stock: Yves Saint Laurent skirt suits from the mid-1970s and off the runway Chanel tail coats. Within the vicinity are the famous Portobello Market and one of Kate Moss’ favourite boutiques, Rellik.

Pelicans and Parrots Shop
Dalston’s Pelican and Parrots is remarkable for its collection of ready-to-wear items from t-shirts to leotards, all from top designers. The shop even branches out of the clothing market and offers homeware and decor items from all around the world. Its chic interior makes for a relaxing shopping experience, so you won’t be finding yourself sifting through discount bins. The store has been so successful that they opened a second location down the street in East London, called Pelicans and Parrots Black, focussing more exclusively on interior design.

The Vintage Showroom

Womenswear tends to dominate the vintage market so it can be challenging for men to find the kind of quality goods widely available to women. However, The Vintage Showroom takes vintage menswear to a whole new level. Rustic wood tables and shelves are contrasted with well worn denim, wool felt pea jackets and knit sweaters in every imaginable colour. But that’s not to say that the Vintage Showroom caters exclusively to men: there is no better place for women to find the perfect slouchy cardigan or worn in flannels! Located in the middle of London at Covent Garden, this boutique is a great contrast to its surroundings. While much of the area has been overtaken by tourists and souvenir stalls, The Vintage Showroom is a great example of how independent businesses are determined to stay.
