How did you come to start your brand?

I designed for myself at first, as brands didn’t seem to have the kind of designs I wanted to wear. I kept getting such a great reactions from friends, from my family, my girlfriend and those who wanted to wear my designs, that I decided to devote my time solely to my designs. That’s when the label Helen Anthony was born.

Have you always been interested in clothing?

I have always loved clothing. I see clothing as being an extension of the self ; one expresses and projects oneself to the outside world through it.

How did you learn tailoring?

I learned from my Great Grandma (Helen). As soon as I had a rudimentary level of skill, I started sourcing and practicing with my own materials.

What is your favorite aspect of designing?

The moment when I can see the designs, that previously only existed in my imagination, come to life.

How did the name of your brand Helen Anthony come about?

The name came from my Great Grandma Helen, and I’m dedicating this brand to her.

How would you define your style?

Elegant, and lots of class.

Who are your mentors?

Helen. I get ideas from her.

Who would you like to see wearing your clothes?

People with elegance, those who want to make a statement and express themselves through what they wear. Leaders, not followers.

What inspires you?

My soul.

You work a lot with colour – what does colour represent for you?

Colour represents different nations, cultures, ideas, moods and seasons.

What are your projects for the future?

I want to focus on knitwear, bags, shoes and accessories.

With a wealth of styles and cuts, as well as a wide range of cloths and colours, Helen Anthony‘s appreciation of traditional menswear is powered by a keen desire to renew the classic silhouette. Schön! recommends you check out the full collection on Helen Anthony’s website.
